The short answer
Idealista and CasaRadar are not the same kind of tool. Idealista is Spain's largest listing portal: landlords and agencies publish there, and you contact them there. CasaRadar does not publish listings. It watches Idealista and the other places where Barcelona rentals appear and tells you the moment something matches your criteria. If you rent in Barcelona you will almost certainly use Idealista. The question is whether you also want an alert layer on top of it.
What Idealista's alerts do
- Save any search and receive new listings and price drops by email, either immediately or as one daily digest. You can keep as many saved searches as you like, free, with an account.
- The app adds push notifications for new listings on a saved search.
- Channels are email and app push only. There is no WhatsApp or Telegram delivery.
- Coverage is Idealista's own inventory: Spain, Italy and Portugal, flats and rooms, from private landlords and agencies. On 1 November 2026 the Barcelona city rental search showed about 2,200 flats and houses, with short-term and agency listings prominent on the first page.

Where Idealista wins
- Everything happens in one place: search, saved searches, contact, tenant profile. The free tenant profile (income, move-in date, cover letter) is attached to every message you send.
- It is free.
- For agency-managed flats it is the channel most agencies answer first.
Where CasaRadar wins
- Speed and coverage. Barcelona flats go fast: a 2026 roundup citing Idealista's own study reports that about a third of Barcelona rentals were taken within 24 hours. An instant alert on your phone beats a daily email.
