The best rental alert apps and websites for Barcelona in 2026 (and how fast each one is)

Why alerts matter more in Barcelona than anywhere else

A 2026 roundup citing Idealista's own study reports that about a third of Barcelona rentals were rented within 24 hours, and Idealista's 2024 report counted around 54 contacts per rental ad in the city. Fotocasa itself warns that the best listings "can receive thousands of contacts in the first hours". Whoever sees the listing first and replies first gets the viewing. So the question is not which site has the most listings but which tool tells you first, across all of them.

1. CasaRadar (alert service, all sources)

  • What it does: one profile with your neighbourhoods, budget and type; instant alerts by email, Telegram or push for matching listings on the major and small portals, agency sites, 40+ private WhatsApp and Facebook housing groups and 20+ colivings. Option to exclude agencies that charge fees.
  • Cost: free to start, then PRO at €19.95 per month, billed €39.90 per 2 months.
  • Best for: anyone in a hurry, and anyone who wants the rooms and flats that only appear in groups.
  • Limit: it does not host listings; you contact the landlord on the source site.

2. Idealista (portal with free alerts)

  • Alerts: unlimited saved searches, email immediate or daily digest, app push. Free. No WhatsApp or Telegram.
  • Coverage: Spain, Italy, Portugal; the largest Barcelona inventory of flats and rooms from owners and agencies.
  • Best for: searching, contacting and the free tenant profile.
  • Limit: only its own listings; the immediate email mode can be noisy.

3. Fotocasa (portal with free alerts)

  • Alerts: immediate or daily, email and app push, one municipality minimum per alert, shareable alert links. Free.
  • Coverage: Spain; about 2,900 Barcelona flats and houses on 1 November 2026; rooms in a separate section.
  • Best for: a second portal next to Idealista; price-drop and commute filters in the app.
  • Limit: own listings only; no WhatsApp delivery.

4. Habitaclia (portal, Catalonia focus)

  • Alerts: free email alert on a saved search, plus a weekly email with ten listings and an "Avísame si baja" price-drop alert; the app sends push notifications.
  • Coverage: about 2,900 houses and flats for rent in Barcelona city on 2 November 2026, from private owners, agencies and banks. Habitaclia and Fotocasa are sister portals in Fotocasa Group, so many listings overlap.
  • Best for: Catalan agencies that list here first.

5. Badi (room marketplace)

  • Alerts: no saved-search alerts documented; notifications are for chat requests.
  • Cost: requests free; Fast-Track €9.99 per 30 days to be pinned in the lister's inbox. Listers only get the first match free, so many requests go unanswered.
  • Best for: rooms in shared flats with flatmate matching.
  • Limit: pay-to-be-seen model, 1.4/5 on Trustpilot (168 reviews, 2026-11-01).

6. HousingAnywhere (booking platform)

  • Alerts: free, email or WhatsApp, app push.
  • Cost: one-time Tenant Protection fee of 25–40% of the first month's rent (minimum €175) plus 2.5% on later payments.
  • Best for: booking a furnished place from abroad with verified landlords and a 48-hour move-in guarantee.
  • Limit: no viewings; mostly furnished mid-term stock at above-market prices.

7. Spotahome and Uniplaces (booking platforms)

  • Both let you book a furnished room or flat online, mostly for one to twelve months. Spotahome showed about 6,400 Barcelona flats and rooms on 2 November 2026; Uniplaces about 1,800, including nearby towns.
  • Cost: a one-time booking fee shown at checkout (no fixed percentage published). Spotahome pays the first month's rent to the landlord 48 hours after move-in; Uniplaces within two business days after a 24-hour safety period.
  • Alerts: Uniplaces has a "Create alert" button; both only cover their own listings.

8. Prio and PisoAlerta (alert bots)

  • Prio: Telegram alerts for Idealista rentals (€19.90 per month) or Badi rooms (€4.95 per month), 7-day free trial. It says it is about two minutes ahead of Idealista's own push notifications.
  • PisoAlerta: email and/or Telegram alerts for Idealista and Fotocasa, €4.99 or €9.99 per month after a 7-day trial. It says itself that it is not instant: one grouped message a day, or about every three hours between 8:00 and 19:00 on Premium.
  • Best for: a cheap feed of one or two big portals.
  • Limit: portals only; no WhatsApp or Facebook groups, no agency sites, no colivings.

9. Facebook and WhatsApp groups (free, manual)

  • Groups like "Flats & Rooms in Barcelona" and "Barcelona Rooms for Students" are where many rooms appear first, often before any portal.
  • Limit: no alerts, lots of scrolling and scams. CasaRadar monitors 40+ of these groups for you; our guide on using WhatsApp housing groups safely explains how to check a poster before paying.

👀 FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the best rental alert apps and websites for barcelona in 2026 (and how fast each one is)

Here are answers to some of the most common questions we receive.

HousingAnywhere does, for its own listings. CasaRadar sends alerts by email, Telegram or push for all the websites it watches. Idealista, Fotocasa and Badi do not.

With "immediate" mode, yes for that portal. The gap is coverage: a flat posted only in a Facebook group or on an agency site never triggers an Idealista alert.

Yes. CasaRadar tells you where a listing is; you contact the landlord there.
